Instructions for Poster Presenters
Poster Sessions Located in Conference Rooms B, C, &

Session 2-Thursday, June 30, 2005 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
The
scientific poster presentation provides a forum for one-to-one, in-depth
discussions of the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of a
specific study. Narrative and visual material such as photographs,
charts, and diagrams may be used. The presenting author must be present
at the specified time to discuss the display with interested
participants. The conference organizers have gone to great lengths to
assure that posters get as much visibility as possible. Conference
attendees will be able to browse posters at nearly all times of the
conference.
Identification
Prior to
the conference, check this website to determine your session date and
poster location:

At the conference poster locations will be
indicated on display boards using the poster session and paper numbers.
Poster boards will be numbered in the upper left-hand corner.
Size
and Template
Posters can occupy up to 94 inches wide by 48 inches
tall. Pushpins will be provided. If you have access to a large drafting
printer, you can follow this link to download a
template for poster.
One rectangular poster board 48 inches (121 cm) high and 94 inches (238
cm) wide will be provided. Your poster may not exceed these
dimensions. Each poster will have a board to itself. Posters should be
mounted using push pins. Push pins will be provided. Please DO NOT
WRITE, PAINT OR USE GLUE on the poster board.

Set-Up/Take Down
Posters
should be set up for the presenter's specified day, Wednesday, June 29th
or Thursday, June 30th. Please follow these instructions:
If your
Poster(s) is in Poster Session 1: Wednesday:

Early
set up will be available at 4pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Setup
must take place by no later than Noon on Wednesday.

Author(s)
should be present at your poster from 1:00-2:30pm on your Session Day.

Take
down your poster before the buses leave for the Gala Dinner (approx.
6pm).
If your
Poster(s) is in Poster Session 2: Thursday:

Early
set up is available at 7:30am on Thursday morning.

Setup
must take place by no later than Noon on Thursday.

Author(s)
should be present at your poster from 1:00-2:30pm on your Session Day.

Take
down your poster before the conference concludes on Friday (approx.
2pm).
Posters
not taken down by their final take-down time will be collected by the
conference organizers and discarded later if not claimed.
Content/Graphics
If you
have access to a large drafting printer, we recommend using PowerPoint
to create your poster. A template is available at
template for poster.
A heading
for the top of the poster should be prepared indicating: 1. Title,
the same as that of the abstract submitted, 2. Author(s), and 3.
Institutional affiliation of the author(s). The main heading
font should be at least 25cm.
The poster
should be legible from a 2-meter distance away from the poster. To
ensure this, all texts for content and figures should be no less than 5
cm high. Subheadings should be 10mm high. All figures should be
clear and well annotated. Figure headings should also be legible from a
2-meter distance away from the poster.
NOTE:
Tables and
other articles that may block traffic in front of poster boards are not
permitted without special permission by the conference organizers.
