Whole Body Vibration/Professional Vehicle Drivers

The Effect of Sitting in WO-BPS posture on Reducing Whole-Body Vibration (WBV) in Vehicle Drivers
Driving test on car drivers was carried out using a car seat equipped with WO-BPS feature.

Finding highlight: Car drivers using car seat with WO-BPS configuration experienced significantly smaller WBV. Based on the measured RMS WBV level, using WO-BPS car seat allows car drivers 2.5 hours more daily driving before reaching the caution zone suggested in ISO 2631-1:1997.

Possible mechanism of WO-BPS posture in reducing WBV in car drivers:

•By reducing contact between the seat and the ischial tuberosities, the WO-BPS car seat reduced the amplitude of vibrations transmitted through the body.
